How to See Your Instagram Stories Views in 5 Easy Steps

Considering that Instagram News was launched almost six years ago, it can no longer be called a new feature. But do people still use Instagram News today? Is this feature stuck or disappeared as its content?

According to 99firms, about 87% of forum users post news while a survey found that about 40% of users post more than once a week. If you follow the Instagram sales trends predicted in the new year, you will see that it is expected that some news will be built up in the future.

Also, it is not just popular for communication purposes. About 33% of Instagram’s most viewed stories are created by brands.

This brings us to our next question (the reason why you might have come to this page) – how do you know if your Instagram News is getting any views?

In this article, we will discuss some of the simple steps you need to take to see who is watching your story. If the number is lower than you expected, keep reading because we also share some tips for using Instagram News for more views.

How Can I See Who Is Watching My Instagram Story?

While you don’t see who’s watching your regular photo posts you share on social media, the good news is that this information is available in the Instagram Story feature. That being said, to see which fans and non-fans are watching your story, you need to act fast. You will only be able to access this information within 48 hours of posting your story (even if you highlighted a particular story).

Here’s how:

Step 1: Open the Instagram app.

Step 2: Touch your story.

Step 3: Swipe up your story. The usernames of the people who watched your story will appear below.

Step 4:If no one has ever watched it, it will simply say “No one has ever seen this”.

Step 5:In that case, take your time and check back in a few hours again.

If the number of views of the story exceeds the number of usernames listed, it means that the same user has viewed the story multiple times as the repetition value is added to the story view number.

Rest assured, only you will be able to see this information. So, if you are obsessed with low numbers (or no viewers at all), no one will be too smart about this failed attempt to create an interesting story.

If the story is outdated (in other words, you posted it more than 24 hours ago), you may still find this information but you will need to follow a slightly different step.

Here’s how:

Step 1: Touch the icon with the three horizontal lines.

Step 2: Select Archive. You may need to tap the title at the top of the screen to open the drop-down menu to select Media Archive.

Step 3: Click on the story. Swipe up the screen to view the story view number.

Using Instagram Story Analytics

Now that you know, you must know how to analyze it so that you can do it right. If you have an Instagram Business page (we recommend that you do it), you can also get data on how many users are following and coming out of your story. For example, if you notice that users are watching your entire story but you are not currently following them, a good place to start is to follow them again.

Monitoring Who Watches Your Story

If for some reason you want to limit who can watch your story, there is an easy way to fix it. After you have recorded the video for your story, you can click on the three dots labeled More at the bottom of the screen. You will be redirected to a drop-down menu with multiple options.

Click on Story settings. Under View, you will be given the option to hide the story and live videos from certain people. Otherwise, it also gives you the option to share it with only close friends you can choose.

Under Story settings, you will find the option to limit who can respond to your story. Here you have three options. You can disable full responses, allow your fans to respond to your message with a message, or place this only on the followers you follow.

The forum also gives your fans the ability to share videos and photos from your news via message. If you want to limit this ability, you will find this option under these settings.
