Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme 2021 for Meritorious & Poor Students

The objective of the scholarship plan is to financially encourage and help the poor meritorious students to pursue higher education. The government aims to fulfill the promise of friendly and quality education for poor through this Scheme.

Target Group: Students

Beneficiaries:

  • Poor meritorious students.

Eligibility:

  • The candidate must be a permanent Punjab resident.
  • All categories – SC/ST/BC/EBC/OBC/general merit etc.
  • Class 10th high scorers with minimum of 60% and above percentage in board exams do apply Scholarship if mainly to help those students studying in government diploma/polytechnics courses.
  • 10th pass with English, Math, and Science with minimum 60% marks.
  • ITI or 10+2 (Vocational/Science) with minimum 60% marks.
  • 10+2 Pass with Science minimum 60% marks.
  • 10+2 with minimum 60% marks.

Punjab Scholarship – Key Eligibility

Each Punjab scholarship comes with certain conditions to follow. Any student who fulfills all the eligibility criteria prescribed for the scholarship can apply. These conditions generally depend upon the current educational qualification of the applicants, their family income or academic merit. However, the key eligibility that applies to all the scholarships is that the applicant should be a permanent resident or domicile of the state. Besides this, the other conditions that you need to follow are mentioned in the table given below.

Detailed Eligibility Criteria of Punjab Scholarship

2. Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Punjab For SC ●        The scholarship is open for students of class 9 and 10.

●        The annual income of their family should be less than INR 2 Lakh.

●        The students who are in receipt of any other centrally-funded scholarships are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

3. Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Punjab For OBC ●        The scholarship is open for students who are pursuing their studies at post-matriculation level (class 11 to postdoctoral level) at a recognised institution/school.

●        The family income condition is limited to INR 1 Lakh per annum which means the annual income of the family should not exceed INR 1 Lakh.

4. Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Punjab For OBC ●        The students of class 1 to 10 can apply for this Punjab scholarship.

●        The annual income of the family should be less than INR 44,500 per annum.

5. Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme For all ●        The scholarship is open for meritorious students of class 10.

●        They must be diploma courses from government polytechnics.

●        The minimum percentage of marks to be obtained by them should be 60% or above.

6. Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities, Punjab For all ●        Minority community students (Sikhs, Muslims, Parsis, Christians, Jains and Buddhists) are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

●        They must be studying in class 1 to 10 at a government/private school.

●        The minimum percentage of marks to be obtained by them in the last qualifying examination should be 50%.

●        The annual family income should not exceed INR 1 Lakh from all sources.

7. Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities, Punjab For all ●        The students belonging to the minority community (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Jains, Parsis and Buddhists) are eligible to apply.

●        They must be studying at post-matriculation level (class 11 to PhD level) from a private/government school/college/university.

●        The annual income of the family should be less than INR 2 Lakh from all sources.

8. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Minorities, Punjab For all ●        Students belonging to the Minority community (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Jains and Buddhists) are eligible to apply.

●        They should be pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course in Technical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Professional, Management, etc. stream.

●        The minimum percentage of marks to be scored by them in the previous qualifying examination should be 50%.

●        The annual income of the family should be less than INR 2.50 Lakh.

9. Attendance Scholarship for Primary Girl Students of BC/EBC Families, Punjab For BC/EBC ●        The girl students studying in primary classes can apply for this scholarship.

●        The minimum class attendance should be 75%.

●        Their parents/guardian should not have land more than 5 acres.

●        The annual family income should be less than INR 1 Lakh.

10. Attendance Scholarship for SC Primary Girl Students, Punjab For SC ●        The girl students studying in primary classes can apply for this scholarship.

●        The minimum class attendance should be 75%.

●        Their parents/guardian should not be income tax payees and have land less than 5 acres.
