The Indian smartphone maker Micromax who once led the smartphone market in the country is one of the few domestic brands fighting for the Chinese manufacturers that currently dominate our market. India’s “In” series of smartphones has been around for about a year now, with five smartphones for consumers to choose from. While the company is still a long way from approaching sales that have been withdrawn by its Chinese competitors, Micromax makes smartphones and other accessories that must go with it, at least in terms of the number of offers offered by the company.

Micromax has now launched its latest and first premium offering, Micromax In Note 2 in India. The smartphone comes with a premium-looking design, a quad rear camera, an AMOLED display, and additional features for Indian consumers. The Micromax In Note 2 was introduced for Rs 13,490 for a single variant of 4GB RAM + 64GB, and the company is offering a discount of Rs 1,000 as the first gift for first-time buyers to get a smartphone at an even cheaper price. I was using Micromax In Note 2 a few days ago and in this article, I will tell you what I like about this smartphone, what I do not like, and finally, if you have to spend your Rs 13,490 on Micromax. Note 2. Let’s get started.

Micromax In Note 2 comes with a premium design that looks like a premium one-hole-punch display and a glossy rear panel.

In terms of design, Micromax has done a great job of making the In Note 2 look more premium than any of its other offerings. It has a flat edge design, something I mentioned earlier that I prefer rather than curved glass, and a camera module that looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy S21. Micromax tried to do what Samsung did with its designs last year. The back panel is shiny and light. It looks good but is a magnet for fingerprints. If you do not use a cover for this, you will find yourself constantly trying to remove finger smudges. Just a touch is enough to make a fingerprint appear on the back panel. The smartphone also feels very light and that’s fine. The screen comes with a hole drill design, with the camera cut up in the middle. Beautiful design, glossy back panel easily detects fingerprints, and build quality does not sound solid.

SHOW

The display is my second favorite with the Micromax In Note 2. It is a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Despite the low level of refreshment, the display looks very good. The colors are very accurate and are one of the brightest displays in this section. The Micromax In Note 2 display is great when viewing a lot of content on your smartphone. In terms of games, this display produces good graphics but you will not get the maximum level of frames. It’s a good show, but we should have done it with a high level of refinement as well.

There is a 5,000mAh battery in the Micromax In Note 2 with 30W fast charging.

WORKING

With smart functionality, this works just like any other budget Android smartphone to mid-range. During my short time with Micromax Note 2, I have not experienced any slow or crash of the app, even in split-screen mode, or while performing extensive tasks like playing. The smartphone works well and there are no complaints about app loading times.

Micromax In Note 2 comes with a MediaTek Helio G95 processor.

Coming to something I love about this smartphone – software. Micromax is now one of only a handful of products that offer Android stock information within this budget. The smartphone works on the stock of Android 11, and there is no skin UI on it. This also means a simple setup process, no unnecessary permissions to access basic smartphone features like phone, camera, and more. Best of all, there are no bloatware apps installed on Micromax In Note 2. The only apps you get are Google apps that include Gmail, Maps, YouTube, and more. Good stuff, I wish more producers went with this option within this budget.

The battery in Micromax In Note 2 is also impressive. Well, there are no bloatware applications and there is an AMOLED display. During my use, despite playing and using the smartphone in high light (over half), I was able to easily pull out 6 hours of screen time, which is great. The 30W charging is also fast enough and the Micromax In Note 2 charges from about 15 to 100 percent in less than 1.5 hours.

There is a quad rear camera setup on the Micromax In Note 2 titled the first 50-megapixel shooter.

THE CAMERA

The camera on the smartphone is not very good. Comes with a quad rear camera with 50-megapixel primary shooter, 5-megapixel second sensor, and 2 2 megapixel cameras. While on paper it sounds like a good camera, very average in reality. While the good thing is that there is very little AI interference, the images from Micromax In Note 2 are not the best quality we have seen in this section. Out in the bright sun, it brings out clear photos that will look good on Instagram.
