How To Create a Fanpage on Facebook With Custom HTML

Facebook fan pages can be a useful way to connect with participants, especially if you have an audience that is likely to use this social media platform. For example, staying within the realm of professional PR, any of its end users who are Web designers or advertisers or any company with a core group of distributors or long-time customers can agree that ‘fans’ can benefit.

However, the communication platform is most effective when all your outgoing forums are closely connected. By this I mean, updates on your status are both thematic and (or similar) and every forum provides links to all other platforms.

The idea is that this is difficult with Facebook because it is not easy to integrate custom HTML into your page. You may, for example, want to give ‘fans’ a chance to subscribe to your newsletter or Blog. Or you may want to enter a portion of the custom code you wrote, which includes a Facebook page next to your website.

It is much easier to add this type of content than Facebook likes to think. First, navigate to your Facebook pages. (Or create one if you don’t have one. The easiest way to do this is to go to any other fan page and click the link at the bottom left of ‘create my business page’. Or just click here.)

Next, click the ‘edit’ link in the upper right corner of your new ‘Followers’ page. Scroll below and click the small pencil icon where it says ‘more apps’ and then click ‘browse more’. At the top of the ‘Search apps’ box, search for ‘My Profile Box’. Click ‘Add to Page’ and follow the instructions to allow this application to be installed. This will include a box in which you can attach your custom HTML.

Go back to the ‘Page Setup’ section on your fan page and scroll down to the ‘My Profile Box’. Click the pencil icon on the ‘My Profile Box’ tab and then click ‘Application Settings’. Here you will have two options; ‘box’ and ‘tab’. Set ‘box’ to say ‘added’ and ‘tab’ to say ‘available’, then click OK.

This makes the app appear in the ‘box’ tab on your Facebook fan page. Now we go to the page itself. Scroll up and click ‘View Page’ under the page title. Click the ‘boxes’ tab at the top. Here you should see the ‘My Profile Box’ app listed. Click the pencil icon next to it and select the ‘move to’ wall tab. Waiting to take you to the wall tab. Once you have redirected to the wall tab, you will see that add ‘My Profile Box’ to the sidebar. Now you can click and drag it anywhere you want it to appear. The process is over.
